Testimonials

<div>At Blue Springs Animal Hospital and Pet Resort, we take pride in offering the best care to our patients and their pet parents. You can expect that we will:</div><div>- Provide the most modern, progressive care through a team of highly educated doctors and staff. Our doctors and technicians each attend continuing education conferences and meetings every year to make sure we are on the cutting edge of veterinary medicine.</div><div>- Provide an estimate for the care we are recommending. Finances are always a difficult part of any pet care conversation, and we can provide/will offer different care options when needed.</div><div><span style="background-color: transparent;">- Communicate your pet’s diagnosis clearly and answer your questions to the best of our ability.</span></div><div>- Be open and honest about how your pet is responding to treatment and the expected prognosis. Open communication is vital to providing the best possible care.</div><div>- Be empathetic. Our pets are like furry four-legged children, and we know how hard it can be when they are sick. - We empathize with you when they aren’t feeling well.</div><div>- Provide a clean, comfortable environment for you and your pet.</div><div>- Accurately inform you of hospital and Pet Resort policies and procedures.</div><div>- Make every effort to be on time for your appointment. If emergencies or other unforeseen circumstances will make us delayed, we will inform you as to when we will be available. If waiting is not an option, we can offer an appointment with another doctor, or to admit/drop off your pet for your doctor’s first availability. We can also reschedule your appointment if that is most convenient for you.</div><div><br></div>

<div>Since pet care is a partnership, our clients also have some responsibilities. As a client, we ask that you help us in the following areas:</div><div>- Treat our doctors and staff with respect.</div><div>- Express your concerns so your doctor knows and can address them directly. Communicating your and your pet’s needs before, during, and after an appointment is critical in providing the best care.</div><div>- Disclose relevant, accurate, and complete information about your pet’s health and history.</div><div>- Make prompt payment. Our costs are incurred as services are rendered. In order to continue providing these services we must cover those costs.</div><div>- Follow administrative and operational protocols such as on-time arrival for appointments, health requirements for Pet Resort services, leashing requirements, and visiting hours.</div><div>- Recognize that medical care is rarely 100% certain. No medication or medical procedure is always effective, and complications can and do arise that are beyond our control. We will work with you in following up with any complications and will always act in both your and your pet’s best interest.</div>

She later pursued both a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and a PhD in Comparative and Molecular Biosciences. Her doctoral research focused on traumatic brain injury and its long-term effects on behavior and neurology, helping lay the groundwork for treatments that support both human and animal patients.

Our hands-on externships are designed exclusively for veterinary students at AVMA-accredited veterinary schools in their clinical years, typically meaning their 3rd or 4th year of vet school. Since every student has different interests, we are excited to offer these programs at a wide variety of our amazing partner hospitals. We know that travel and lodging expenses for externships can often be cost-prohibitive on a student’s budget. To make our externships as accessible as possible, we offer stipends to externs to help offset these costs (unless prohibited by the veterinary school you are attending).

As one of our staff members said, “It means that the blood, sweat, and tears given by our staff daily is recognized for the difference it makes to our clients, patients, and community.” This recognition is a source of pride for our entire hospital family and we so grateful for our loyal clients who make it possible to uphold the very highest standard of veterinary care.

Blue Springs Animal Hospital &amp; Pet Resort has one of the finest veterinary hospital and boarding facilities in the country.

The AAHA Staff Wellness Award recognizes our efforts to create a positive culture where staff are engaged and feel appreciated. Our staff well being program provides resources, relational support, and fun activities that promote physical, mental, and emotional well being, laughter, and stress relief. Our patients receive the best care possible because our staff is engaged, motivated, and cares about providing the highest standard of care to every patient.

Blue Springs Animal Hospital &amp; Pet Resort offers complete wellness care plans to keep pets happy and healthy for a lifetime. Our wellness programs include complete physical exams by a veterinarian for early detection of problems and prevention of parasites and contagious diseases for pets (and the people who live with them).
<br><br>
Lifetime wellness care starts with a comprehensive and affordable puppy or kitten plan and continues through the pet’s life to adult and senior plans. The wellness plans are based upon:
<br><br>
•Up-to-date research
<br>
•Consultation among the doctors and others nearby about cases seen in our area
<br>
•A strong commitment to determine risks and protect pets while not over-vaccinating
<br>
•A belief that veterinarians have an important responsibility to educate and protect people from parasites or diseases which can pass from unprotected pets to people

The essential key to great medical care is a highly trained staff who genuinely care about giving pets top quality medical treatment. Many of our doctors and staff have been at Blue Springs Animal Hospital for a long time and their dedication sets the example. We believe the following are important considerations in retaining staff who provide the best care:
<br>
•Intentionally recruit doctors and staff who demonstrate a genuine, from-the-heart compassion for pets and the people who love them
<br>
•Practice a team approach with support and consultation among multiple doctors on difficult cases
<br>
•Provide a mandatory 6 month mentorship program with the hospital Medical Director for new doctors
<br>
•Provide extensive training to support staff on general pet care knowledge and tasks that pertain to their job duties
<br>
•invest in conferences, meetings, and workshops for continuing education
<br>
•Encourage education and skill development by requiring that only graduate, licensed technicians supervise our anesthesia, surgery, and dentistry cases
