Dr. Mariana Leiva is a California native who earned her undergraduate degree in Zoology from San Francisco State University. She went on to attend Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, completing her clinical year at UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. After veterinary school, she pursued a one-year rotating internship at VCA Encina in Walnut Creek, California. Dr.Leiva’s professional interests include emergency and critical care medicine, toxicology, and surgery.
Outside the hospital, she enjoys traveling, biking, hiking, and gardening.
